ABOUT Velanda Samuel MSW, LCSW
Hello! My name is Velanda Samuel and I am the founder of Breakthrough Clinical Services LLC. In my business I go by the title of Brain Health Strategist as I help people who are tired of being trapped in their thoughts and want to be free, happy and able to love who they are and finally be their authentic selves.
I am available for group and individual therapy and counseling treatment. I work with teenagers 16 and older, adults, the elderly and the disabled, in the areas of anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, grief and loss as well as other life issues. I have over 20 years of experience working with individuals and families in various capacities and since the start of Breakthrough Clinical Services, LLC in 2015 I have grown my unique style of working in the field of mental health into a suite of programs.
My educational background includes obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Child Studies from the University of Saint Joseph in 2004 and I obtained a Master of Social Work degree from Springfield College in 2009. My clinical hours were obtained at Eastern Connecticut Health Network Manchester Memorial Hospital Behavioral Health.
I have been featured as a frequent expert keynote speaker of mental health on 89.9 WQTQ radio, 91.7 WHUS radio, Energy Radio as well as on Channel 61 NEWS and for Dress for Success. I am also a speaker and panelist at various conferences & retreats.
I provide Breakthrough to Wellness workshops and group work on Self-Care and Holistic Wellness. I also mentor master level clinicians on ways to obtain their licensure.
Self-help Workbook & Clinical Guide
I encourage you to purchase my self help workbook and clinical guide that can be used as a training manual for teachers, therapist, or individuals.
In the Understanding Depression workbook I provide my readers with understanding the symptoms of depression, helpful worksheet exercises and prompts for reflection are also included in the workbook. The beauty of the curriculum is that you can go at your own pace, therefore it is not looked at as an assignment, a demand or requirement.
